Saving as a .mod file

Hello, I'm using Octave with Dynare and Notepad++ to edit the code for Dynare, but I cannot save in the .mod or .dyn format required by Dynare. Are there any editors that can save in .mod format? Or is there an easier way to change the file to .mod?

They recommend version 4.04 and Matlab 2008b. I use Octave and Dynare in the most recent version of the ubunto repositories.

... 10.7, as I compiled them on 10.8. Do the same thing as yesterday, but try using the mex files located here instead: http://www.dynare.org/houtan/octave/ And tell me how it goes. If this doesn't work, I'd be more inclined to think there was a problem with your setup than with the mex files.
