Hi, finally Dynare could run on Octave 3.8.2. Then I tried to perform bayesian estimation...but there is an error reading data file:

error: The io package is required to read XLS/XLSX files from Octave


Can you give me some advise to fix this problem.

3.8.2 should work. Great!! Dynare 4.4.3 in Octave 3.8.2 worked very good at calibrating and simulating a model. Now I am trying to perform Bayes stimation and a new error reads: ***MESSAGE FROM ROUTINE D9LGIT IN LIBRARY SLATEC. ***FATAL ERROR, ...

3.8.2 should work.

ok, I understand the point, bur there is any usable Octave version Dynare can work with?

Which Dynare and Octave version are you using? Did you consider that Octave is a factor 2 to 10 slower than Matlab and you may need to wait longer?

I am trying to run the attached model with Dynare inside the Octave but I did not succeed.
It works good on Matlab but when I use the Octave the programm never returns me the results...
Does any one could help me?

Why don't you then use a newer Dynare version with Octave 3.8.2 ? Alternatively, Dynare 4.2.5 should work with older versions of Matlab.

Even for the other cases, Matlab and Octave provided different steady states on my machine. Could it be that your steady state is not unique and the local solver you use converges to different points? If yes, you should ideally provide analytical steady state values.

You need to do some thorough debugging. For nr_i=0.2, the mod_fiscal_04_ss_solve.m already returns different steady state values. Could it be that your steady state is not unique and Matlab and Octave converge to different steady states?
