Can Dynare calculate IRF's from different equilibrums?

Postby matheusrabelo » Mon Dec 19, 2016 7:51 pm

Hi everyone,

Can dynare generate IRF's considering differents equilibrium values?

For example: The economy is hit by a fiscal shock; s periods ahead Dynare saves the equilibrium. From there, the economy is hit by a new fiscal shock and IRFs are calculate from the equilibrium values in period s.

Regards!

What do you mean with
different equilibriums?

Equilibria in the models Dynare currently solves are locally unique. It seems you want to do a simulation with different shocks hitting at different points in time. You can easily do that using the simult_-function. See https://github.com/JohannesPfeifer/DSGE_mod/blob/master/RBC_news_shock_model/RBC_news_shock_model.mod
