Acceptance Ratio

i was doing my MCMC for my model.
i gave mh-replics= 300000
initially the acceptance ratio came out to be around 30% and values close to that . but later the ratio started to decline , and by the time the iterations were completed it was close to 1 % . i wonder what one must diagnose of this .
