steady state problems

I would have a question....
We had improved a DSGE model in Matlab and decided to solve it in Dynare as well. We computed the linearised equations and the steady state values (as initval) - from our previous Matlab results. I'm wondering why Dynare cannot solve the problem but sends the following message:
'Impossible to find the steady state. Either the model doesn't have a unique steady state of the guess values are too far from the solution
'
