Hi, I am new to Dynare and Octave. After installation of Octave3.2.2 and Dynare4.0.3 in Ubuntu9.10, I can not open Dynare.
Thank you for your help!

Hi,

First note the Dynare package in Ubuntu 9.10 depends on Octave 3.0. It will probably not work out of the box with Octave 3.2.

Second the addpath command is:
Code: Select all
addpath /usr/share/dynare/matlab

Hope this helps.

Best,

Thank you. It seems good.
But why the manual said: (http://www.dynare.org/manual/ch02s03.html#id382292)
Under Debian GNU/Linux or Ubuntu, type:

addpath /usr/lib/dynare/matlab

Is it a misleading?

Yes, the manual is wrong here and refers to a previous version of the Debian/Ubuntu packages. We should fix it soon.

This error is related to the fact that the variable lgy_ no longer exists in Dynare 4. You hit a code which is meant for Dynare 3. We should also fix this.

Best,
