initial value for state variables

Postby Ippei » Mon Dec 06, 2010 7:42 am

Hi all,

Is it possible to set a different initial value for a state variable than the steady state value endogenously computed by the DYNARE? I remember that this was not possible with the older version.

Thanks in advance,
Ippei

Hi Ippei,

look at 'histval' command (http://www.dynare.org/manual/re13.html)

Best,

Michel

Dear Michel,

Sorry again. I tried histval. Yet, does this apply to stoc_simul?
I cannot find any difference between impulse responses or stochastic steady states between with and without histval.

Thanks in advance,
Ippei

histval does not affect stoch_simul.

It affects the "forecast" command, that you can use after stoch_simul.
