Hi, finally Dynare could run on Octave 3.8.2. Then I tried to perform bayesian estimation...but there is an error reading data file:
error: The io package is required to read XLS/XLSX files from Octave
Can you give me some advise to fix this problem.

You need to load Octave's io package. See https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/doc/interpreter/Using-Packages.html
