Replicating the history

Dear Michel,
Suppose in a model you have an equation of the form Z=e; where e is exogenous. In terms of smoothed variables, what the version of dynare we are using returns for Z is the lagged values of e. Shouldn't the smoothed values of Z be equal to those of e?

Thanks,
Junior
