Why I got different results from running Practicing Dynare?

Postby dingliumath » Thu Sep 19, 2013 2:48 pm

Hi all, recently I ran the codes in Practicing Dynare and got quite different results from those in the accompanying paper by Barillas et.al. (2010). Take The Neoclassical growth model (GrowthApproximate.mod) for example, the coefficients of the approximated policy functions and transition functions I got are the following, see the attachment (in jpg format). I do not understand why, since the codes are not changed at all. By the way, I use dynare 4.3.3.

Thanks for your help.

Because the Cooley/Prescott model in the PDF file was wrong and has never been corrected. In contrast, the mod-file has been updated to reflect the correct timing.
