Model comparison with MLE

Postby George » Fri Aug 22, 2008 3:12 pm

Dear all,

I have an additional question that concerns model comparison. It is well-known that one can use the marginal data densities generated by Dynare to compare models when Bayesian estimation is used.
What methods for model comparison can one use though if Maximum Likelihood is used in Dynare instead of the Bayesian method for estimating the given model?
Does Dynare report what is needed for such a comparison?

Thanks a lot for all your replies!

Best,
George
