Dynare in MATLAB vs. Octave

Postby Jan » Thu Mar 16, 2017 1:55 pm

Hi everyone,

please, is there any problem with a portability between Dynare in MATLAB and in Octave? Are these two perfectly compatible? The problem is that I will obtain a .mod file prepared in Dynare for MATLAB and I plan to run it in Dynare for Octave.

Thanks in advance.

I guess you are talking about Windows? If you have a matching version of Dynare and Octave on Windows, then compatibility is very good (except for some solvers only being available in Matlab Toolboxes). Problems arise if you use an Octave version newer than what Dynare currently supports. Ideally, you should use 4.4.3 with Octave 3.8.1
