'var' command

Postby tung_1976 » Fri Aug 21, 2009 6:41 am

Dear all,
I'm very new with Dynare. After reading installation, I would like to try to do as the manual said. However, I had a problem with the first command of 'var' which is for setting the variables. But this command is the same of 'var' for calculating the variace. Thus, I can't run dynare. Any help from you would be greatly appreciated.
Best,Pisut

Hi,

The 'var' keyword has indeed two meanings: it can declare endogenous or it can be used for shock variances.
However, Dynare is able to distinguish between the two, given the context. So you should not encounter an error.

Please post your MOD file if you want more help.

Best,

Thank you for your suggestion. I wrote the mod file with matlab editor. I might go back to check installation guide again.
